Hello Friend you don’t know me
I have known you always, as you will surely see

These words came to me, while I was sleeping, from above
With the message to find someone, who could sing these words with love

So I wondered if you, and the members of your band
could add to them some music, that would lend our world a hand.

Through my life, at times, I’ve acted less than smart
not listening to the messages emanating from my heart.

Then over me arrived a change, imposible to explain
A wonderful experience that took away my pain

Now I stand open hearted, through my guidance from above
With outstretched arms to all I see, at peace and oh so alive, in the afterglow of love

We are products of the things we’re taught, from the moment we are born
Imprisoned by our thoughts, until from our essence we are torn

It’s time to change the view of life, we have around us now
Obtain that reassurance, to help us cope somehow

Something that appears impossible for most of us to do
The greatest, yet hardest, step towards that change, is to begin that change in you.

Emerging, through my guidance from above
At peace and oh so alive in the afterglow of love

Although, I cannot see that eternal me, that guides me through this life
I know its there every time I breathe, always loving, always caring, never wanting to deceive

Even when there seems cause for doubt, I’m enveloped by its light
Explaining ever gently, there is no wrong, no right

Soon, I know, there will come a time, we’ll cease to be apart
When I give my mind its peace, and hear the voice within my heart

Then, and only then, through my guidance from above
Will I be at peace and oh so alive in the afterglow of love.

Now at last I realise, its taken lifetimes to understand
There is really but one leader, in our solitary band

The problem that we have, you see, and we need to see it soon
That our all important instruments are completely out of tune

The only way to a better life, and the music that makes us free
Is to offer our open hearts and outstretched hands to all we see

And soon the day will come, through our guidance from above
When we all may stand at peace and oh so alive in the afterglow of love
